SIFF – Press meet on SC Judgement. And also demands to make 498a Bailable

SIFF Press Meet on 10^th July, 2014 @ Hyderabad Press Club, Basheerbhag, Telangana.

Agenda:

1. Introduction of SIFF and it’s evolution.
2. NGO Objective and Activities (Only research & surveys, Education & Training,  Awareness & Promotion of Men’s Rights Activism)
3. Appreciating recent SC Judgment – and it’s significance of myths and realities around 498a
4. Domestic  Violence on Men (Our Survey Results)
5. In view of the failure of the Govt and NCW and almost zero convictions not only in 498a but also in DVC cases(being covered in news papers today) we will place our DEMANDS:

i)                    Repeal 498a and merge it with PWDVA, 2005

ii)                  Implementation of SC Directive in spirit

iii)                Opposing Civil Court status to NCW

iv)                National Commission for Men

v)                  Highlighting the useless and harmful Feminist Ideology to be sidelined in lawmaking process

6. Victim Speak:

A)    Victim ONE : been to judicial custody and illegal detention in 2009 and later after 5 yrs in 2014 March, accquitted in 498a case

B)    Victim TWO :DVC case where he is discharged from all the domestic violation allegations after due trail for almost 5 years
