The 498A revision petition was filed by NGO Nayadhar who was seeking to scrap the improvement in the Rajesh Sharma judgement of 2017. Feminist organizations have been trying to remove the little fair chance Rajesh Sharma judgement gave to men and their families to fight fake cases of dowry and harassment. The main change is Family Welfare Committee has been removed. Feminists and mainstream media is also spreading wrong information to create confusion. We did a detailed analysis on what changed and what can be used to fight fake cases of 498A by Pandurang Katti, co-founder, Save Indian Family Foundation. We also discuss the implications to the notorious section 498A as a result of the recent CJI Deepak Mishra judgement of scrapping family welfare committee to scrutinize complaints prior to filing FIR and the series of events leading to this judgement.
