Demand: No Maintenance to economically and sexually empowered women.
Here is what a famous feminist Dona Fernandes, who is sister-in-law of former defense minister George Fernandes says:
“Today’s empowered women are refusing to follow the traditional diktats of Indian marriages. Marriage is the biggest form of displacement for any woman as she has to shift from her home (natural habitat) to her husband’s home.
“It is the wife who is supposed to adjust. But today’s financially strong women are not ready to take undue pressure on their individual existence and thus marital discords are bound to increase,” said Fernandes.
Hmmm….that’s interesting. We have to completely agree with Ms.Fernandes that today’s women are empowered economically, legally and also sexually. In fact, married women are approaching SIFF to save their marriages being broken by divorced “sexually and economically empowered” women.
One also has to wonder, why the econonomically and sexually empowered women without any regard to traditional responsibilities be given maintenance or alimony by husbands?One of the ways to rein in these sexually empowered women is to deny them alimony and maintenance by courts. That way, the chances of these women breaking marriages of other women by seeking sex from married men will reduce.
Why the judges in the courts and the Government do not free men from traditional responsibilities just the way they are working to free up women from all traditional responsibilities? If traditional responsibilities of marriage have to be followed, then both men and women have to follow it or no one follows it. There can not be double standards here.
The arguments of radical feminists are full of hypocrisy and double standards. All these economically and sexually empowered highly educated women are queuing in courts asking for maintance. Courts must deny alimony or maintenance to all economically and sexually empowered women with education of graduation or above, if there are no children in the marriage.
Let there be equality. Let both men and women work. Let both women and men get out of their traditional responsibilities. Men must not be expected by society to protect and provide for women, just the way society is made to overlook the traditional responsibilities of men.

So, if this displacement is a discrimination, then lets eliminate this discrimination of women as well. It is time that educated, economically empowered women must be given no maintenance, no alimony orders by courts during divorce and they must be told to return to their natal home (natural habitate) in stead of trying to grab husband’s property and demanding a right to residence.
